Staying With God In The Raging Storm.

"When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee." - Isaiah 43:2 (KJV).

Have you ever been in a situation where you questioned yourself — why is this happening to me? Have you ever questioned God, asking why you go through so much yet see no results? You pray. You cry. You fast. You believe. You do everything. But what you asked for doesn’t show up. You’re doing all you can to avoid your fears; somehow, those fears still become reality.

Your strength may begin to fade. You stop praying — not because you want to, but because something inside you is scared. You wonder: Will it even work this time? Will I make it? Has God left me? You start to fear that your growth with God is slipping back to square one.

I’ve been there. In fact, I’m still in it — fighting, pushing, trying not to lose myself. And in all honesty, it gets harder sometimes.  I stopped doing things that once meant so much to me — praying, reading the Bible, following my plans, and fasting. These were things I was proud of doing, through the help of the Holy Spirit.

Then the questions came. Was I truly serving God or just performing? I couldn’t even pray. I felt my prayer life slipping away like sand through my fingers. I had to fight to get it back.

I kept the story of Saul in 1 Samuel 28 and Mark 14:32-42 close to my heart. They reminded me that if I didn’t return, I might lose everything — His friendship, His voice, His plans, and most painfully, myself. We know what the devil comes to do: steal, kill, and destroy — by planting fear, guilt, distractions, and temporary happiness in worldly things, ultimately extinguishing my fire. John 10:10 NLT — “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.” This verse hit me. God wants to give us life, not just rich in blessings, but satisfying. That word satisfying gave me hope. A reminder that God still wants me, if I just hold on.

If you’re in this situation, remember what the psalmist says in Psalm 37:23-24“The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.” Go to God as a child. Not strong. Not perfect. Just honest. He sees everything, so why pretend or push some things aside? Psalm 16:11 (NLT)— “You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.”

Don’t try to do it on your own. Your strength will fail. That's because we are human, and God knows that. He wants us to come to him in our weakness and rely on him as our strength. Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Proverbs 16:3-4“Commit your actions to the Lord, and your plans will succeed. The Lord has made everything for his own purposes, even the wicked for a day of disaster.”

Stop worrying. Start praying. Psalm 34:4 (NIV) says, "I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears.” Kenneth Hagin once said, “I’d rather spend hours in prayer than minutes in worry.” He also reminded us, “If you wait until you feel like praying, you’ll miss your breakthrough.”

So, if there’s one thing I’ve learned through it all, it’s this:

Let’s just dey with God.

Dey there. No commot.
